Solar

Ideal offer a range of on-roof, in-roof and frame mounted collectors for flat roofs. Ideal also offer variable speed pumps and solar controllers. The Ideal Solar range is available in a choice of three packs. The packs contain all you need to set up a solar water heating system with 1 collector for small houses (pack 1), 2 collectors for medium houses (pack 2) and 3 collectors for large houses (pack 3).

Air

Ideal Boilers supply an air pump (Airtherm) designed specifically to operate in the UK climate, Airtherm heat pumps will operate efficiently with either a traditional radiator system or underfloor heating system and within a wide variety of house sizes and styles. The Airtherm heat pumps offer a an excellent efficiency performance up to 400% dependent on duty (a SEDBUK A gas boiler is 90%) The normal measure of efficiency is coefficient of performance (COP), and it usually varies between 2 and 4 dependent on external air temperature, humidity and heating temperature.

Heat pumps are recognised by the Government’s Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) and show significant carbon emissions savings over other forms of space and water heating. With the potential to reduce CO2 Emissions by 50%, Airtherm allows compliance with Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes when used in conjunction with notional energy saving methods such as improved thermal insulation. Airtherm design provides hot water supply up to 65ºC ensuring there is no need for electrical heating backup.

Designed for external use, Airtherm offers unobtrusive, simple installation, to provide one of the most cost effective methods of realising a renewable energy source as free energy is available at all times in the outside air. Even in low ambient temperatures if frost builds up on the evaporator due to moisture in the air, the unit will automatically defrost to maintain its operation.

Airtherm is particularly suitable for well-insulated properties and those with no mains gas supply and don’t take up valuable internal space.

Ground

A Groundtherm heat pump installed in the home as the sole source of heating and hot water, can reduce CO2 emissions to zero, whilst offering a rated efficiency of 400%! With an appropriately designed system, a Groundtherm heat pump will provide an efficient lifetime of around 25 years, with the ground loop collector having an expected life of around 100 years!.
